Located in Canindé do São Francisco, 213 kilometers from Aracaju, the construction of the dam of the Hydroelectric Power Plant of Xingó resulted in a reservoir with 65km in length in the semi-arid region. The rapids of the São Francisco River were replaced by calmer waters and waterways, providing unforgettable trips by catamaran, schooner or boat in a labyrinth of beautiful rock formations which inspire respect and admiration in those who have the chance to visit them. Tourism agencies offer the tour daily. In vans, tourists are taken to Dock II, in Canindé do São Francisco, where they take the catamaran.
